About the game
To Court the King is a light push-your-luck dice game where players roll and re-roll dice to recruit servants, nobles, and eventually the King's favor. Each character requires a specific dice combination and grants ongoing benefits for future rolls, such as extra dice or reroll manipulation. The game climaxes in a final roll-off to see who can assemble the longest, highest matching set to win the King's favor. Designed by Thomas Lehmann, it supports 2-5 players in about 45 minutes.
Hobbli's Notes
We like how this Yahtzee-inspired design layers in drafting-style character benefits that snowball your dice options over the course of the game. It's approachable for casual players but has enough building strategy to satisfy light gamers. The escalating dice pools make for a satisfying final roll-off. A solid family-weight pick for fans of dice-based push-your-luck games.
