Cookie Policy
Last updated: 28 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Hobbli (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on hobbli.eu. It describes what these technologies are, which ones we use and why, and how you can review or withdraw your consent at any time. It should be read together with any privacy notice we publish.
Hobbli is operated by Fabien Le Thuaut (France), who is the data controller for the processing described here.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels and software development kits, perform comparable functions. We refer to all of these collectively as “cookies”.
Cookies may be set by us (first-party cookies) or by third parties whose services we use, such as Google (third-party cookies). They may last only for your browsing session (session cookies) or remain until they expire or you delete them (persistent cookies).
2. How we ask for your consent
When you first visit, a consent banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, or choose per category under “Personalize”. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot function without them; all other categories are set to denied by default and are only used after you opt in.
We implement Google Consent Mode v2: until you consent, Google’s tags either do not run or run in a restricted, cookieless mode that sends no identifying information. Your choice is remembered in the hobbli_consent cookie so we don’t ask again on every visit.
3. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Always active. These do not require consent.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
hobbli_consent | Hobbli (first party) | Stores your cookie consent choices so the banner is not shown on every visit. | 12 months |
Analytics
Set only after you consent, via Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, and via Amplitude (analytics and session replay). They help us understand how the site is used: which pages are popular, how visitors navigate, so we can improve it. Data is aggregated and we do not use it to identify you personally.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes unique visitors. | 2 years | |
_ga_<id> | Persists the analytics session state (GA4). | 2 years | |
_gid | Distinguishes visitors (where used). | 24 hours | |
AMP_<id> | Amplitude | Distinguishes unique visitors and persists the analytics session state. | 1 year |
Advertising
We do not run advertising on Hobbli. No advertising cookies are set. The consent banner still offers an advertising category because Google Consent Mode requires those signals to be declared, with the category left off (the default), the corresponding signals stay denied.
Exact cookie names and lifetimes are set by Google and can change; the categories above reflect their current behaviour.
4. Third parties and international transfers
Our analytics cookies are provided by Google and Amplitude. When active, these services may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards each provider applies (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses). For details, see Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses cookies, and Amplitude’s Privacy Policy.
5. Links to retailers and other sites
Hobbli links out to third-party retailers so you can compare and buy games. When you follow such a link, the destination site sets its own cookies under its own policy: we have no control over those. Some outbound links may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a commission on a purchase at no extra cost to you.
6. Managing and withdrawing consent
- Use the Cookie settings control (also available from the button at the bottom-right of the page) to change or withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent.
- You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may affect how some parts of the site work.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics across sites with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including to access, correct, erase or object to its use, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@hobbli.eu.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Significant changes may be highlighted through the consent banner.
