About the game
Too Many Bones is a fantasy dice-builder RPG where you take on a powerful Gearloc hero and battle across a campaign of encounters toward a final showdown with a fearsome kingpin. Rather than a static character sheet, your abilities live on customizable skill dice that you build up over the course of a campaign, giving battles a tactical puzzle feel unlike typical dice games. Playable solo or cooperatively with up to four, the game features 4-7 selectable classes, each with wildly different playstyles. Story-driven encounter cards add plot twists and comic relief between the tactical battles. It's a tactile, ambitious RPG experience built almost entirely around dice.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team finds the dice-builder concept genuinely innovative: it delivers RPG-style character growth without a single character sheet in sight. The variety between classes means multiple campaigns feel fresh rather than repetitive. It does demand a significant investment of both money and rules-learning time before it clicks. A rewarding choice for groups who love tactical combat puzzles and don't mind a hefty box.
