About the game

Llamaland is a tile-laying tableau game by Phil Walker-Harding where 2-4 players farm crops on rugged mountain plateaus while raising adorable llamas. Players grow potatoes, corn, and cocoa on carefully placed field tiles, using their harvests to acquire llama cards that grant victory points and let them add llamas to their farm. Layering tiles cleverly and managing variable setups let players build an efficient, expanding farm over the course of the game. After about 45 minutes, players compare their crop-growing operations and llama collections to determine the winner.

Hobbli's Notes

Llamaland delivers the light, charming, and cleverly tactile tile-laying style that Phil Walker-Harding is known for, with genuinely cute llama theming. The interlocking tile placement puzzle offers just enough strategic bite without becoming heavy, making it an easy family favorite. Its quick setup and moderate playtime make it a comfortable choice for a relaxed game night. A great gateway game for players moving from simple family games into slightly meatier tile-laying strategy.

  • Accessible rules with enough depth for repeat plays.
