About the game

Cacao is a tile-placement game where players lead a tribe cultivating and trading cacao in a growing jungle village. Each worker tile placed adjacent to jungle features like fields, markets, wells, or temples generates resources or triggers actions, and players must plan carefully as their limited tile hand cycles each turn. Water and gold accumulate to determine the eventual winner, with temples rewarding whoever sends the most workers. It's a light, elegant tile-laying game with an appealing tropical theme.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team appreciates how Cacao packs a satisfying resource-management puzzle into a light, approachable tile-placement framework. The limited hand of worker tiles forces meaningful tough choices each turn about where to expand. Its quick playtime and simple rules make it an easy recommend for casual and family groups. It won't satisfy players craving a heavier strategic challenge, but it excels at what it sets out to do.
