About the game

Endless Winter: Paleoamericans takes one to four players to prehistoric North America around 10,000 BCE, guiding a tribe's development across generations from nomadic hunter-gatherers to settled societies. Players send tribe members to action spaces around the board, paying for actions with cards and resources while Culture cards grant unique bonuses. A simultaneous end-of-round Eclipse phase determines new turn order and triggers bonus actions. Over four brisk rounds, tribes hunt megafauna, migrate to new lands, and build megalithic structures on the way to the final score.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli is impressed by how fresh this blend of worker placement and deckbuilding feels within the euro space, with multi-use cards and the Eclipse phase adding real tactical texture. The prehistoric theme is unusually well realized for a euro, and the included solo mode adds extra value.

What we like

  • Fresh hybrid of worker placement and deckbuilding.
  • Strong solo mode.
  • Richly thematic prehistoric setting.
  • High replayability from variable set-up.

Keep in mind

  • Moderate-heavy complexity for newcomers.
  • Four-round structure can feel short given the setup investment.
  • Some card luck affects available strategies.
