About the game

Carcassonne: Star Wars reskins the beloved tile-laying classic with a galaxy-far-far-away makeover, replacing roads, cities, and cloisters with Trading Routes, Asteroid Fields, and Planets. Merchants, Explorers, and Conquerors take the place of the original game's Robbers, Knights, and Monks, and majority control is now decided by dice rolls rather than simple meeple counts. Faction symbols for the Empire, Rebel Alliance, and Bounty Hunters add bonus scoring opportunities regardless of which side your meeples represent. A four-player team variant even lets Empire and Rebel factions face off directly. It's familiar Carcassonne fun with a fun sci-fi coat of paint.

Hobbli's Notes

If you already love Carcassonne, this is a fun thematic reskin rather than a wholly new experience: the dice-based majority control is the main mechanical change worth noting. It's an easy way to hook Star Wars fans on tile-laying games. Veterans looking for deep new strategy might find it too close to the original to feel essential.

What we like

  • Familiar, beloved Carcassonne tile-laying formula.
  • Easy to teach to kids and casual players.
  • Quick 35-minute playtime.
  • Dice-based majority control adds a fun twist.

Keep in mind

  • Purely a reskin offering little new for Carcassonne veterans.
  • Dice rolling can undercut the original's tactical placement.
  • License theming may not appeal to non-Star Wars fans.

Who it's for

Great for families and Star Wars fans ages 7 and up looking for a light, quick tile-laying game.
