About the game
Commands & Colors: Napoleonics lets two players refight iconic battles of the Napoleonic Wars, commanding the French or British armies across a grid-based battlefield. Command cards restrict which sections of the line you can order each turn, creating a realistic fog of war and forcing tough tactical choices. Dice-based combat resolves quickly, keeping the focus on maneuver and timing rather than fiddly calculations. It's an accessible entry point into historical block-and-hex wargaming from designer Richard Borg's acclaimed Command & Colors system.
Hobbli's Notes
This is one of the most approachable historical wargames out there, striking a great balance between tactical depth and quick playability. The command card system keeps both players guessing and prevents the game from devolving into a pure numbers contest. For anyone curious about wargaming without wanting to wade into rulebook-heavy simulations, this is a fantastic starting point.
