About the game
Archaeology: The Card Game sends two to four players digging through the Egyptian desert to uncover torn parchments, broken pots, and other priceless artifacts. Players draw from a dig-site deck to collect matching treasure sets, trade at the marketplace to boost their value, and time their sale to the museum for maximum profit, all while dodging sandstorms and thieves. Maps found along the way unlock a bonus pyramid-exploration mini-game for even more treasure. Designed by Phil Walker-Harding, it packs quick, family-friendly push-your-luck and set-collection into a fast 20-minute session.
Hobbli's Notes
Phil Walker-Harding has a real knack for light, elegant family card games, and this one delivers exactly that: simple rules, a charming theme, and just enough push-your-luck tension to keep things interesting. It's an easy game to teach in a couple of minutes and just as easy to replay right away. Don't expect much strategic depth here: it's built for breezy fun rather than deep decision-making.
