About the game

Adapted from the beloved video game, Dorfromantik: The Board Game is a cooperative tile-laying puzzle where up to six players build a sprawling landscape of forests, rivers, and villages together. Each round asks players to fulfill population orders while extending rivers and roads and enclosing scoring regions. A replayable campaign unlocks new tile types hidden in sealed boxes, adding fresh challenges over time. It's a gentle, low-conflict puzzle experience that scales smoothly from solo play to a full table.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli finds this a wonderfully relaxing puzzle game that captures the charm of the original video game in physical form. It's light enough for family play but has just enough spatial tension to keep experienced gamers engaged, and the campaign progression is a nice long-term hook.

What we like

  • Cooperative structure removes conflict and welcomes mixed-age groups.
  • Beautiful, satisfying tile-laying puzzle mechanics.
  • Easy to teach to new players.
  • Unlockable campaign content adds long-term replayability.

Keep in mind

  • Lower complexity may not satisfy dedicated strategy gamers.
  • Limited direct player interaction since it's fully cooperative.
  • Outcomes are influenced by the luck of the tile draw.
