About the game
Mind MGMT: The Psychic Espionage Game pits one player controlling the sinister Mind MGMT organization, moving secretly across a city map to recruit new psychic agents, against a team of rogue agents trying to deduce and capture them. The Recruiter answers yes/no-style questions from the rogue team, who track clues with dry-erase mental notes to narrow down the hidden location. Mind MGMT wins by gathering twelve recruits or surviving sixteen turns, while the rogue agents must correctly identify their target's block to win. Based on Matt Kindt's graphic novel, it's a tense hidden-movement deduction game for one against several.
Hobbli's Notes
A clever asymmetric deduction game that captures the paranoid, cerebral tone of its source material. The rogue agents' collaborative deduction is genuinely satisfying to piece together, though it depends heavily on a sharp, engaged Recruiter player.
What we like
- Clever asymmetric hidden-movement deduction mechanic.
- Strong thematic tie-in to the acclaimed graphic novel.
- Team-based deduction encourages real collaboration.
- Variable player powers keep the rogue team dynamic.
Keep in mind
- Heavily depends on the Recruiter player running the hidden role well.
- Deduction pacing can drag if players struggle to narrow clues.
- Asymmetric setup means uneven roles between players.
Who it's for
Great for fans of hidden-movement deduction games aged 13+; best played with 3-5 people, one taking on the asymmetric Mind MGMT role.
