About the game
Troyes Dice reimagines the city of Troyes as a solo-friendly roll-and-write, following the medieval struggle between nobility, workers, and the church. On your turn you roll dice and choose how to allocate them toward battling events, developing markets, building the cathedral, or contributing to prestigious construction. Every choice pushes your fame track forward in a different way, and the player with the most fame at game's end wins. It's a quick, flexible game that plays great solo or with a crowd.
Hobbli's Notes
Troyes Dice captures the flavor of the original Troyes in a much lighter, faster roll-and-write package. Hobbli likes how flexible it is: equally happy as a quick solo puzzle or a competitive multiplayer session. It's a great gateway into the Troyes universe for players intimidated by the heavier original.
What we like
- Excellent solo mode alongside multiplayer support.
- Quick 30-minute playtime.
- Flexible dice allocation gives real tactical choice.
- Scales impressively to very large groups.
Keep in mind
- Roll-and-write format can feel repetitive over many sessions.
- Less thematic immersion than the original Troyes.
Who it's for
Good for casual gamers and roll-and-write fans age 10+, playable solo or in groups up to 10.
