About the game
Glen More II: Chronicles casts players as the leaders of a Scottish clan expanding their territory across the centuries. On your turn you take a tile from a shared time track and place it to activate resource production, movement, or victory points in your growing settlement. After four rounds of relative scoring, the clan with the strongest overall economy and territory wins, with optional "Chronicles" modules layering in new twists on the core system.
Hobbli's Notes
This tile-laying engine-builder rewards careful long-term planning and offers a lot of built-in variety through its modular Chronicles expansions. It's a satisfying, if somewhat dry, Euro experience for players who enjoy optimizing a growing personal board.
What we like
- Deep tile-laying engine-building with meaningful long-term decisions.
- Modular Chronicles expansions add substantial variety.
- Relative scoring system rewards balanced clan development.
- Strong production values with attractive components.
Keep in mind
- Long playtime of around two hours with notable downtime.
- Turn-order queue mechanic can confuse first-time players.
- Thematic elements feel secondary to the mechanical engine.
Who it's for
Best for experienced Euro gamers ages 12 and up, in groups of two to four, who enjoy tile-laying and engine-building strategy games.
