About the game

Betrayal at Baldur's Gate brings the beloved Betrayal at House on the Hill system into the Forgotten Realms for 3-6 players. As you explore Baldur's Gate's alleys and catacombs by building the modular board tile by tile, dark forces work to turn one of your own allies into a traitor. Fifty included scenarios range from fully cooperative to tense one-vs-many showdowns, meaning it rarely plays the same way twice. Dice-driven combat and hidden roles keep the tension high throughout.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli considers this a strong reimagining of the Betrayal formula with a satisfying Dungeons & Dragons coat of paint. The huge scenario count genuinely delivers variety, and the uncertainty of who (if anyone) will betray the party keeps tension high round after round. As with the original Betrayal games, some scenarios are stronger than others, and pacing can slow with a full table. Still a great pick for groups who love unpredictable, story-driven exploration.

What we like

  • Modular board exploration creates fresh surprises every playthrough.
  • Traitor mechanic adds tense social deduction to cooperative exploration.
  • Fifty scenarios provide enormous replay variety.
  • Strong Dungeons & Dragons theming throughout.

Keep in mind

  • High downtime, especially with a full six-player group (downtime grade D).
  • Traitor reveal can suddenly unbalance the remaining game.
  • Scenario quality and difficulty vary noticeably.

Who it's for

Great for Dungeons & Dragons and horror-adventure fans aged 12+ in groups of 3-6.
