About the game

1754: Conquest - The French and Indian War is a team-based, card-driven wargame recreating the North American conflict between France and Britain during the Seven Years' War. Two to four players take on French Canadian Militia, French Regulars, British Colonial Militias, or British Regulars, coordinating strategy with their teammate while forging alliances with Native American factions. Victory comes from controlling map spaces representing towns and forts until the Treaty of Paris ends the war. New mechanisms like defensible forts, muster points for reinforcements, and harbor regions for overseas reinforcement add strategic texture to this historical conflict simulation.

Hobbli's Notes

A dense but rewarding team-based wargame for players who enjoy coordinating strategy with a partner. The historical detail and new mechanisms like forts and muster points add welcome texture to the genre. We'd reserve this one for groups already comfortable with card-driven wargames.

What we like

Keep in mind

  • Requires four players for full team dynamics, which may limit availability.
  • Heavier wargame complexity and rules overhead may deter casual players.
