About the game
Nautilion is a solo-friendly dice game in the Oniverse series, casting players as the captain of a submarine racing to recruit a nine-member crew and reach the Abyss before a rival Phantom Submarine and a menacing Darkhouse catch up. Each turn, three rolled dice are distributed among the Nautilion, the Phantom Submarine, and the Darkhouse, controlling movement and damage. With only four copies of each crew token available, every die placement is a careful risk-reward decision.
Hobbli's Notes
We love how Nautilion packs meaningful decisions into a light, quick dice game, especially for solo players since it plays in just thirty minutes with virtually no downtime. The tension of allocating dice between your own progress and your opponents' advancement is clever and tight. Five included expansions give it strong replay value for a game this compact.
What we like
- Excellent solo mode with almost no downtime.
- Clever dice-allocation mechanic creates constant tension.
- Five expansions included add strong replayability.
- Compact 30-minute playtime is easy to fit in.
Keep in mind
- Limited to one or two players only.
- Thematic depth is light compared to rules complexity.
- Token scarcity can feel punishing on unlucky rolls.
