About the game
Sylvion is a tower-defense card game set in Shadi Torbey's Oniverse, where Fire Elementals attack in waves down four lanes and you must defend the heart of the forest using trees, fountains, and woodland animals. A unique drafting system lets you build your defensive deck before facing the onslaught, and you pay for cards using other cards from your hand. Animal cards grant instant effects or let you manipulate the attacking deck, adding a layer of tactical disruption. Designed primarily for solo play (with a two-player cooperative option), it scales in challenge through introductory, advanced, and expert modes.
Hobbli's Notes
Sylvion is a clever little tower-defense puzzle wrapped in a card game; its resource system where cards pay for cards creates neat push-pull tension. As a mostly solo experience it punches above its weight for replayability thanks to multiple difficulty tiers and expansions. It's a niche pick given the limited player count, but for solo gamers who enjoy tight tactical puzzles it's a rewarding one.
What we like
- Clever card-pays-for-card resource system creates satisfying tension.
- Strong solo experience with scalable difficulty modes.
- Thematic tower-defense structure translates well to cards.
- Includes expansions and an appendix for added challenge.
Keep in mind
- Limited to 1-2 players, restricting group play.
- Niche appeal for players who don't enjoy solo/co-op puzzle games.
- Thin narrative outside of its tower-defense mechanics.
Who it's for
Solo gamers and light-strategy fans aged 10+ who enjoy tower-defense puzzles and card-drafting, with an optional two-player cooperative mode.
