About the game
Fort casts players as kids building the coolest hideout by growing a circle of friends, collecting pizza and toys, and constructing their fort card by card. On your turn, cards let you take actions of your own, but they can also let opponents follow along and benefit from your moves, creating a constant balancing act between self-interest and imitation. Neglected cards can start disappearing from your deck if you never use them, adding a light deckbuilding pressure to your choices. The player with the most victory points from friends, toys, and fort pieces wins.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's editorial team finds Fort's childhood theme genuinely charming, and the ability to "follow" other players' actions keeps everyone engaged even outside their own turn. It's a light, quick deckbuilder that's easy to teach to newer players without sacrificing meaningful choices. The card-loss mechanic for unused cards is a clever nudge toward active play, though it can catch new players off guard. Overall it's a solid, breezy pick for family game nights that want a bit of deckbuilding without heavy commitment.
