About the game

DOOM: The Board Game is a tactical combat game for 2-5 players based on Bethesda and id Software's classic video game franchise. One player takes on the invader role, commanding legions of demons, while up to four others play elite marines fighting to survive. Across two campaigns of six missions each, marines pursue objectives like restoring power to UAC facilities or descending into the pits of Hell, using custom dice, modular map tiles, and thirty-seven detailed miniatures. It's a big, thematic dungeon-crawl brawler built for fans of the source material.

Hobbli's Notes

A great thematic adaptation with excellent miniatures and satisfying, brutal combat. The one-vs-many structure keeps the invader player engaged throughout, though the long playtime and heavy rules mean it's best for committed groups.

What we like

  • Faithful, high-energy adaptation of the DOOM video game franchise.
  • Excellent miniatures and modular map tiles create strong immersion.
  • One-vs-many structure gives the invader player a distinct, engaging role.
  • Two full campaigns provide substantial replay content.

Keep in mind

  • Three-hour playtime demands a serious time commitment.
  • High complexity and rules overhead can slow down new groups.
  • Marine players can experience downtime while the invader takes their turn.

Who it's for

Fans of licensed shooters and dungeon-crawl combat games, 2 to 5 players, comfortable with long, rules-heavy sessions.
