About the game

Fate of the Elder Gods casts players as rival cults racing to summon an ancient evil while investigators work to stop them. Using a hand of variable spell cards, you navigate the Fate Clock board, ready and cast powerful spells, and gain control of key locations like the Museum. As your cult's presence grows, so does the attention of investigators, who can raid your lodge and slow your plans with Elder Signs. First cult to summon their god wins: though humanity's fate hangs in the balance. It's a Lovecraftian area-control and engine-building game for 1-4 players, including a full solo mode.

Hobbli's Notes

Fate of the Elder Gods delivers satisfying Lovecraftian competitive tension, as every cult races the clock while trying to avoid drawing too much investigator attention. Hobbli's team likes that it fully supports solo play, a nice bonus for a game this thematically rich. The variable player powers of different Elder Gods keep games feeling distinct across plays. At 90 minutes with real strategic weight, it's best suited to groups already comfortable with moderately heavy Ameritrash-style games.
