About the game
Elder Sign is a cooperative dice game set in the Arkham Horror universe, where investigators race to collect mystical Elder Signs before an Ancient One awakens and threatens to destroy the world. Players resolve dice-based challenges at museum "adventure" locations, managing sanity and stamina while collecting tools, allies, and clues. A countdown mechanism forces the Ancient One's eventual appearance, leading to a final showdown if the investigators haven't sealed enough portals. It's a fast, thematic cooperative game with strong Lovecraftian flavor.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team enjoys Elder Sign's clever dice-based puzzle-solving, which captures genuine Lovecraftian tension without excessive complexity. The variety of investigators and Ancient Ones keeps repeated plays feeling different. It plays relatively quickly for a cooperative game with this much theme, making it a great entry point into the Arkham Horror universe. Fans of deeper Arkham Horror games may find it lighter than expected, but that's part of its appeal.
