About the game
Eldritch Horror sends a global team of investigators racing to solve mysteries, gather clues, and hold back an Ancient One bent on destroying the world. Players travel across the globe, resolving encounters, fighting monsters, and slowly unraveling the lore surrounding each unique cosmic horror. Mythos cards ratchet up the pressure every round, introducing new gates, monsters, and threats as the Ancient One's arrival draws closer. With a huge cast of investigators and expansions, it offers a sprawling, ever-tense cooperative adventure.
Hobbli's Notes
Eldritch Horror remains one of the most beloved cooperative Lovecraft games thanks to its globe-spanning scale and constant sense of impending doom. The variety of Ancient Ones and investigators keeps the game feeling fresh even after many plays. It does run long and can be punishing, so we recommend it for groups who enjoy tense, story-rich cooperative challenges rather than a light night. Its huge expansion catalog is a big draw for fans who want to keep growing the experience.
What we like
- Massive scale supports up to eight players cooperatively.
- Rich lore and variety across different Ancient Ones.
- Constant mounting tension from the Mythos deck.
- Strong replayability with numerous investigators and expansions.
Keep in mind
- Long playtime, often stretching well past three hours.
