About the game

Qwinto is a fast, simultaneous dice game where players race to fill three colored rows of shapes on their scoresheet with sums rolled from colored dice. Numbers must increase left to right within a row, and no number can repeat in a vertical column, creating light puzzle tension on every roll. The round ends once someone completes two rows or racks up four misthrows, after which points are tallied from completed columns, rows, and penalties. It's an easy-to-learn dice game that keeps every player active at once.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli sees Qwinto as a solid, no-fuss dice filler: quick to teach, quick to play, and satisfying enough to hit the table repeatedly. It won't wow strategy-focused gamers, but it's a reliable pick when you need something light between heavier games. The simultaneous play keeps everyone engaged rather than waiting on turns.

What we like

  • Fast simultaneous play keeps everyone engaged at once.
  • Simple rules that are easy to teach in minutes.
  • Light strategic tension in choosing which row or color to fill.
  • Quick 15-minute playtime fits many occasions.

Keep in mind

  • Dice luck plays a large role in outcomes.
  • Limited long-term strategic depth.
  • Scoresheet-based play can feel repetitive over many sessions.
