About the game
Thunderbirds is a cooperative adventure game for 1-4 players based on the classic 1960s sci-fi TV show, tasking players with piloting iconic rescue vehicles to save victims from escalating disasters. Using action points, movement, and dice rolling, teams coordinate their unique vehicle abilities, from Thunderbird 2's cargo pods to Lady Penelope's FAB 1, to complete rescue missions before time runs out. It's an accessible, family-friendly co-op with strong solo support and plenty of licensed charm.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team appreciates how well Thunderbirds captures the show's spirit of teamwork and heroic rescue, with variable player powers giving each vehicle a distinct role. Designer Matt Leacock's cooperative pedigree shows through in smooth, approachable rules. It's an easy recommendation for fans of the license and for families wanting a lighter cooperative adventure.
What we like
- Strong nostalgic license tie-in for Thunderbirds fans.
- Variable player powers give each vehicle a unique feel.
- Solid solo mode alongside cooperative play.
- Approachable rules from an experienced co-op designer.
Keep in mind
- Licensed theme may mean less appeal for non-fans.
- Cooperative games can suffer from a dominant player quarterbacking decisions.
