About the game

Triumph & Tragedy is a geopolitical strategy game covering the struggle for European supremacy between Capitalism, Communism, and Fascism from 1936 to 1945. Using an area map, wooden combat blocks, and dual Action and Investment card decks, players juggle diplomacy, industry, technology, and military buildup as they race toward victory through economic hegemony, an atomic bomb, or outright conquest. Designed for three players (with a two-player variant), it's a true multi-sided game where alliances shift and only one power can ultimately win. The block system hides force composition from rivals, adding tension to every troop movement. It's a dense, highly interactive wargame for players who want a full evening of shifting diplomacy and hard strategic tradeoffs.

Hobbli's Notes

Triumph & Tragedy rewards patient, thoughtful players with one of the richest three-sided strategic experiences in the wargaming space, where the threat of war matters as much as war itself. It's a serious investment in both time and rules-learning, and it shines brightest with a regular group who can return to it. The hidden-information block system keeps every game tense until the final turns. Not for casual tables, but a standout for dedicated strategy gamers.
