About the game
Asara puts players in the role of wealthy builders competing to construct the largest and most ornate towers over four rounds. Cards played to shared action spaces let you gather tower pieces, earn money, and build, but once a color is set at a space, later cards there must match it. Scoring rewards both tower height and decorative flourishes each round, with bonus prestige for the largest towers of each color at the game's end. It is a card-driven worker placement game from acclaimed designers Michael Kiesling and Wolfgang Kramer.
Hobbli's Notes
Asara is a smart, understated euro that rewards careful card sequencing over flashy plays. Watching how the shared action spaces evolve as colors lock in creates a nice layer of tension between players. The tower-building visuals give it a satisfying tactile feel at the table. It's a solid pick for groups who enjoy medium-weight strategy without excessive downtime.
