About the game

Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft Board Game is a cooperative dungeon-crawl where players choose a hero - ranger, rogue, warrior, cleric, or wizard - and explore the horror-themed halls of Castle Ravenloft. As you reveal new dungeon tiles, you encounter monsters, fight for survival, and gain treasure and experience to level up your hero. Each of the included scenarios has a different goal, from retrieving relics to slaying a vampire lord. It's an accessible entry point into cooperative fantasy dungeon crawling with true D&D flavor.

Hobbli's Notes

Castle Ravenloft does a great job distilling the feel of a D&D dungeon crawl into a streamlined board game without needing a dungeon master. The gothic horror theme and vampire-lord showdown give it real atmosphere. A great gateway for D&D fans and cooperative dungeon-crawl newcomers alike, and it plays solo too.

What we like

  • Accessible cooperative dungeon crawl without needing a dungeon master.

  • Multiple scenarios and heroes add solid replayability.
  • Supports solo play as well as full cooperative groups.

Keep in mind

  • Dice-based combat can feel swingy at times.
