About the game

Warhammer Quest is a classic cooperative dungeon crawler where 1-4 players take on the roles of a Barbarian, Wizard, Dwarf, and Elf venturing into ever-changing, modular dungeons. Together they battle Orcs, Goblins, Skaven, and other monsters while searching for gold, treasure, and magical artifacts. Dice rolling and card-driven events determine encounters as the dungeon is built room by room, ensuring no two quests play out the same. It's an early and influential entry in the dungeon-crawl genre.

Hobbli's Notes

Hobbli's team has a soft spot for Warhammer Quest's old-school dungeon-crawling charm and its modular, ever-changing corridors. It's a foundational cooperative crawler, and while its production and rules feel dated by modern standards, the sense of adventure still holds up. Fans of Warhammer's fantasy setting will especially enjoy the immersive theme. A great pick for nostalgic gaming nights.

What we like

  • Modular dungeon layout keeps each playthrough different.
  • Rich Warhammer fantasy theme with varied monsters.
  • Fully cooperative, encouraging teamwork.
  • Extensive component list gives a strong sense of scale.

Keep in mind

  • Rules and production feel dated compared to modern crawlers.
  • Long playtime with potential downtime between turns.
  • Out of print, making it harder to find complete.

Who it's for

Great for cooperative dungeon-crawl fans (12+) and Warhammer fantasy enthusiasts in groups of 1-4.
