About the game

Pyramid of Pengqueen (also known as Fluch der Mumie, or Curse of the Mummy) is an asymmetric hidden-movement game played on a two-sided magnetic board. One player controls the Mummy, hunting for tomb raiders whose pieces are visible only on their own side of the board, while the raiders use dice rolls and deduction to dodge capture and secure treasures. The Mummy player must infer raider positions from movement clues and dice results, creating a tense game of memory and bluffing. It's a quick, family-friendly deduction game built around a clever piece of physical design.

Hobbli's Notes

The magnetic double-sided board is the real star here, turning a fairly simple deduction game into something that feels genuinely clever at the table. It leans younger than most hidden-movement titles, making it an approachable stepping stone before games like Scotland Yard. Good fun for family game nights looking for something a bit different.

What we like

  • Clever magnetic double-sided board creates genuine hidden movement.
  • Asymmetric Mummy-vs-raiders setup adds tension for all players.
  • Easy to teach to younger kids.
  • Unique deduction puzzle not common in games this light.

Keep in mind

  • The Mummy role may feel harder or less balanced for some players.
  • Outcomes rely significantly on dice rolls.
  • Limited long-term depth for adult gamers.
