About the game
Bomb Busters is a cooperative deduction game where players work together to defuse a ticking bomb by deducing the hidden values of their teammates' wire cards. Each player sees their own wires but not their values, and must point at others' wires to make educated guesses, cutting matching numbers together as a team. Cutting a red wire spells disaster, while yellow wires bring special twists. With 66 increasingly difficult missions, the tension escalates as the detonator ticks closer to zero.
Hobbli's Notes
This channels the communication-limited magic of Hanabi and The Mind into a fresh, tense team puzzle, and the escalating mission structure gives it real staying power. It's quickly become a go-to recommendation for groups who like thinking together under pressure.
What we like
- Clever deduction puzzle built on deliberately limited communication.
- Scales well with escalating difficulty across 66 missions.
- Quick to teach and play in about 30 minutes.
- Strong sense of shared tension and genuine teamwork.
Keep in mind
- Relies heavily on a group's communication style, which can frustrate quieter players.
- Limited replay value once all included missions are completed.
- Real-time tension elements may stress players who dislike pressure.
Who it's for
Fans of cooperative deduction and communication games, families and groups, ages 10+, best with around 4 players.
