About the game

The Mind is a minimalist cooperative card game where players must play numbered cards in ascending order as a team without any communication whatsoever. Each level deals more cards to each player, and success depends on collectively sensing the right moment to play your lowest card. Shurikens allow limited emergency coordination, but otherwise it's pure shared intuition. Simple to teach yet profoundly tense, it's become a modern classic for its unusual "team telepathy" experience.

Hobbli's Notes

The Mind is a fascinating experiment more than a traditional game - the silent tension of guessing when to play is unlike anything else on the market. It works best with a group willing to embrace the wordless, almost meditative flow state it demands. A must-try conversation piece, though it won't appeal to gamers wanting concrete strategic decisions.

What we like

  • Wonderfully unique no-communication cooperative concept.
  • Extremely simple rules that anyone can learn in minutes.
  • Creates genuine suspense and shared triumph as a team.
  • Short 20-minute playtime fits into any session.

Keep in mind

  • Very light on traditional strategy or decision-making.
  • Some players may find the lack of communication frustrating.
  • Limited long-term depth once the novelty wears off.

Who it's for

Great for 2-4 players aged 8+ looking for a unique, low-complexity cooperative experience that emphasizes intuition over strategy.
