About the game
Glory to Rome tasks players with rebuilding the city after a devastating fire, competing to construct the most impressive buildings and restore Rome's glory under Nero's watchful eye. Each card can serve as a building, client, resource, or material, forcing constant, difficult decisions about how best to use your hand. The role-selection system lets other players follow your lead or 'think' to draw more cards, creating rich strategic interplay. A cult classic prized for its clever, tangled card design.
Hobbli's Notes
Glory to Rome has a devoted cult following for good reason: its multi-use cards and discard-pile mechanics create decisions unlike almost any other card game. It's a bit fiddly to learn and the rulebook has a reputation for being dense, but once it clicks, it's a genuinely brilliant design.
