About the game

The Druids of Edora is a strategic dice-placement game from the team behind The Castles of Burgundy, casting players as druids walking through mystical forests among menhirs and mistletoe. Placing dice to take actions, you'll gather provisions, gain knowledge, brew potions, build stone structures, and collect herbs to earn prestige points. Each turn unfolds through a handful of simple steps, but layering the right strategy across dice values and available actions is the key to victory. It's a fantasy-themed evolution of classic dice-placement Euro design.

Hobbli's Notes

Fans of Stefan Feld's dice-placement pedigree (think Castles of Burgundy's tile-matching tension) will feel right at home here: the game translates that same careful puzzle-solving instinct into a druidic fantasy setting. The forest and folklore theme is a lovely change of pace from typical medieval Euro settings. As a newer release, we'd love more table time with it before making bolder claims, but the bones of a tight, prestige-chasing strategy game are clearly there.

What we like

  • Dice-placement puzzle rewards careful value-matching strategy.
  • Distinctive folklore and forest fantasy theme.
  • From an experienced Euro-design team with a strong track record.
  • Multiple paths (provisions, potions, structures) support varied strategies.

Keep in mind

  • As a brand-new release, long-term replay value is still unproven.
  • Dice-placement systems can feel restrictive if you roll poorly.
  • Complexity may be steep for casual groups.
