About the game
Tag Team blends deckbuilding with an arcade-fighting auto-battler, letting players assemble a two-fighter team from twelve available characters, each with unique techniques and special moves. Starting with just two cards, players add new ones round by round without reordering what's already programmed, then watch the fight resolve automatically as cards flip one at a time. Timing your combos and blocks is everything as you try to knock out the opposing team. It's a fast, clever head-to-head duel inspired by classic fighting games.
Hobbli's Notes
Tag Team's 'program your deck, then watch it fight' structure is a genuinely fresh hook for a two-player card game, and the quick playtime makes rematches painless. Since it's a brand-new 2025 release, we're still forming a full opinion on how the character balance holds up over many plays.
What we like
- Clever fusion of deckbuilding with auto-battler resolution.
- Short playtime makes rematches quick and easy.
- Twelve distinct fighters offer real team-building variety.
- Satisfying tension between planning and watching it unfold.
Keep in mind
- Strictly a two-player game, limiting group use.
- Automatic combat resolution reduces control during the fight itself.
- Learning fighter synergies takes several plays.
Who it's for
Two-player card game and fighting-game fans aged 10 and up looking for a quick, tactical head-to-head duel.
