About the game
Dorfromantik: Sakura is a standalone successor to the Spiel des Jahres-winning Dorfromantik, transporting its relaxing landscape-building puzzle to a cherry-blossom-filled Japan. Players cooperatively place hexagonal tiles to match terrain edges, growing an ever-expanding countryside while completing quests. The new Sakura element adds fresh scoring opportunities alongside more than 40 achievements to unlock across six boxes' worth of content. It remains a meditative, low-conflict tile-laying experience for solo or group play.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team loves Dorfromantik for its zen-like flow, and Sakura's new Japanese setting adds welcome visual variety without disrupting what made the original special. The achievement-unlock structure gives it terrific long-term replayability for a cooperative puzzle game. It's an easy recommendation for anyone who wants a calm, satisfying tile-placement experience.
