About the game
Unstoppable is a solo or cooperative roguelike deck-building game where you build up a hero to face down a world-ending boss threatening three sci-fantasy planets. Through card crafting and deck refinement, you maintain momentum between action and card draw as you fend off escalating threats before finally confronting the boss. Victory requires defeating the boss before your health runs out or the danger level spirals too high. Designer John D. Clair brings his signature card-crafting mechanisms to a tense, escalating solo/co-op experience.
Hobbli's Notes
Unstoppable channels the addictive 'roguelike deckbuilder' feel of video games like Slay the Spire into a physical card game, and John D. Clair's card-crafting pedigree shows through in the smooth engine-building. Hobbli's team appreciates that it plays great solo, which is rare for games with this much strategic depth. As a very recent release, it hasn't been widely played by our team yet, so some specifics are still being assessed.
What we like
- Excellent solo mode with genuine strategic depth.
- Card-crafting system rewards clever deck synergies.
- Escalating threat structure keeps tension high throughout.
- Fast setup and minimal downtime between turns.
Keep in mind
- Limited to 1-2 players, restricting group play.
- Deck-building complexity may challenge newcomers.
- Repeated play against similar bosses could reduce novelty over time.
Who it's for
Ideal for solo gamers or pairs aged 14+ who enjoy roguelike deck-building and escalating cooperative challenges.
