About the game
Lacuna is a minimalist 2-player abstract game about collecting flowers on a moonlit pond, played entirely on a cloth mat. On your turn, you draw an imaginary line between two flowers, place a pawn, and claim both flowers for yourself. Setup and teaching take only seconds, and full games wrap up in about 15 minutes. Its striking, calm visual design belies the sharp positional thinking required to win.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli loves how much elegant strategy Lacuna packs into such a simple, beautifully presented ruleset. Its extremely fast setup and short playtime make it a perfect pocket-sized duel for any occasion. The zone-of-control style play rewards spatial thinking despite the game's tranquil aesthetic. Being such a minimal, niche abstract title, exact comparisons to other games are offered with some uncertainty.
