About the game
Dragon Eclipse invites players into a magical world of mythical creatures called Mystlings, each with a unique deck of cards for tactical combat. Players explore, befriend, tame, and train Mystlings, completing personal quests while building powerful decks tailored to their favorite companions. A 12-scenario campaign unravels the mystery of an ancient eclipse, while a 1v1 arena mode and a solo-friendly roguelite mode offer additional ways to play. Rich deck-building combat combines with grid-based exploration for a highly tactical, creature-collecting adventure.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli is intrigued by Dragon Eclipse's combination of per-creature deckbuilding with campaign storytelling, and its zero-downtime design makes it especially strong for solo and two-player play. As a 2025 release it's still building a track record, so some of our specific comparisons carry a bit of uncertainty. Still, it looks like a strong pick for fans of tactical card combat with a collectible-creature hook.
What we like
- Deep deck-building combat with a unique deck per creature.
- Strong solo mode with essentially zero downtime.
- Extensive 12-scenario campaign plus 1v1 and roguelite modes.
- Charming, richly illustrated creature-collecting theme.
Keep in mind
- Limited to 1-2 players, restricting larger group play.
- Two-hour playtime is a real time commitment.
- Campaign structure means investment builds over many sessions.
- Component-heavy box likely carries a premium price.
Who it's for
Best for 1-2 players, ages 12+, who enjoy tactical deck-building combat with a fantasy creature-collecting theme.
