About the game

Naturopolis is a cooperative, 18-card tile-laying game where players build a shared natural landscape of mountains, lakes, forests, and meadows. Before each game, three cards are flipped to randomly generate that session's scoring rules, creating wildly different objectives and a new score to beat every time. On each turn, players add one card to the growing landscape, working together without revealing their own hands to maximize points across four zone types. As the third standalone entry in the Sprawlopolis series, it can also be combined with its sister games for even more variety.

Hobbli's Notes

Naturopolis packs impressive variability into just 18 cards, thanks to its randomized scoring-rule system that changes the goal every session. The cooperative, silent-communication style of play creates a satisfying puzzle where players must infer strategy from what's already on the table. Its tiny footprint and 20-minute playtime make it an ideal quick, portable game for solo or small-group play. Fans of the Sprawlopolis series will appreciate how well it stands alone while also combining with earlier entries.

What we like

  • Randomized scoring rules create huge variety from just 18 cards.
  • Tiny, portable footprint ideal for travel or quick sessions.
  • Strong solo mode alongside cooperative multiplayer play.
  • Zero downtime keeps every player engaged throughout.

Keep in mind

  • Silent, no-communication cooperative style may frustrate chatty groups.
  • Very short playtime may feel slight for some groups.
  • Small card count means limited thematic depth.
