About the game
Whirling Witchcraft casts players as witches transforming magical ingredients into powerful recipes while trying to overload their rivals' cauldrons. Everyone plays recipe cards simultaneously each round, converting ingredients on their workbench before passing the leftover cauldron contents to a neighbor, who must find space for them or return the overflow. Personality cards grant unique powers and starting ingredients, adding asymmetry to every game. The first player to force five extra ingredients onto an opponent wins this quick, take-that card game.
Hobbli's Notes
This is a snappy, slightly mean-spirited card game -- the simultaneous recipe conversions create fun puzzle-solving, while the take-that cauldron-passing mechanic injects real player interaction and a bit of chaos. It's light enough for a filler slot but has enough decision space to reward players who plan several conversions ahead. A solid pick for groups who enjoy lighthearted competitive card games with some spite.
