About the game

Tiny Epic Dungeons packs a full cooperative dungeon crawl into a tiny box for 1-4 players. Your band of Heroes explores a modular dungeon room by room, fighting goblins and dodging traps while a burning torch counts down the time you have left before darkness swallows you. After clearing the dungeon, you face a unique Dungeon Boss with its own lair and abilities, using Ritual Rooms to weaken it before delivering the final blow. Collectible loot sets add a light build-your-hero progression across the adventure.

Hobbli's Notes

Scott Almes' Tiny Epic series has a real knack for cramming big-game feelings into small boxes, and this dungeon crawler is one of the more thematic entries. The torch-as-timer mechanic creates a satisfying sense of urgency without a rulebook the size of a real dungeon crawler. It rewards careful play but doesn't punish you for taking a swing at the boss a little early.

What we like

  • Strong solo mode that plays just as well as full-group sessions.
  • Modular dungeon and boss variety keep each run distinct.
  • Compact components deliver a surprisingly thematic experience.
  • Torch-timer mechanic adds tension without heavy rules overhead.

Keep in mind

  • Small components can be fiddly to track during play.
  • Complexity is higher than most 'tiny' games, which may surprise newcomers.
  • Difficulty can spike sharply if the torch mechanic goes against you.

Who it's for

Suited to 1-4 players aged 14+ who enjoy fantasy dungeon crawlers and cooperative tactics, including strong solo play.
