About the game
CloudAge takes players to a scorched, dystopian future where airship crews search a ruined world for resources and a better life. Designed by Alexander Pfister and Arno Steinwender, it blends deck-building, bag-building, and an innovative card-sleeving mechanic that lets players predict what resources lie hidden in cloud-covered terrain. A branching campaign introduces new rules and story chapters as you progress, while standalone scenarios offer shorter play options. Supporting 1 to 4 players in about 100 minutes, it delivers a rich mix of engine-building and exploration. Players develop airship upgrades and recruit crew as they push deeper into the wasteland.
Hobbli's Notes
CloudAge is an ambitious design from Alexander Pfister, layering deck-building and resource prediction into something that feels fresh even for seasoned euro-gamers. The campaign structure does a nice job of easing new players in gradually while building toward a satisfying narrative arc. It asks for a real time investment to see its systems shine, but the payoff is a genuinely inventive game. Fans of Pfister's other titles should feel right at home here.
