About the game
7 Wonders is one of the most decorated board games ever released, and this Second Edition refreshes the beloved card-drafting classic with updated art and refined components. Across three Ages, players simultaneously draft and play cards to construct resource-producing buildings, military structures, scientific advances, and their personal Wonder. At the end of each Age, hand-to-hand military conflicts break out with neighbors, and after three Ages, players tally victory points from buildings, wonders, military, science, and treasury. With no downtime thanks to simultaneous play and support for up to seven players, it's an ideal choice for larger groups.
Hobbli's Notes
7 Wonders earns its reputation as an award magnet because the simultaneous drafting keeps everyone engaged at once: there's essentially zero downtime even with a full table of seven. The variety of scoring paths (military, science, civilian, commercial, guilds) means multiple viable strategies coexist, which keeps replays interesting. Some players may find the neighbor-only interaction limits direct confrontation with the whole table, and the multiple scoring categories can feel like a lot to track for absolute beginners.
