About the game
Dice Miner sends you back to the mountain halls of the Dwarves as they reclaim their ancestral tunnels from returning Dragons. Across three rounds, custom dice are rolled onto a shared mountain board and players draft them into their personal hoard, scoring points before re-rolling and refilling the pool. It's a game of coveting the right dice, building combos, and pushing your luck for maximum value. Fast turns and light rules make it an easy fit for casual game nights.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli sees Dice Miner as a solid light-to-mid dice drafting game: nothing groundbreaking, but the combo-building and dwarf theme give it charm for a 30-minute filler.
What we like
- Quick 30-minute playtime fits easily into a game night.
- Dice drafting rewards planning combos over three rounds.
- Variable player powers add some asymmetry.
- Accessible rules make it easy to teach to families.
Keep in mind
- Heavy reliance on dice luck can frustrate strategic players.
- Three-round structure can feel short for the setup involved.
- Limited depth for players seeking a meatier strategy game.
Who it's for
Good for casual and family groups aged 10+ who enjoy light dice drafting and push-your-luck decisions without heavy strategic overhead.
