About the game
Roll Camera! casts you as movie producers on a failing studio's last chance, rolling custom Crew dice to assign departments like camera, sound, and lighting to actions across a shared board and your own player board. You'll match crew arrangements to Shot cards, solve production Problems, and manage a ticking clock of time and money while keeping quality high enough to finish the film. It's a cooperative or solo dice worker-placement game built around a clever geometric shot-arrangement puzzle. Completed films can even be "premiered" using the story cues at the end.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team appreciates how thoroughly the filmmaking theme is baked into the mechanics: the shot puzzle genuinely feels like arranging a film crew. It's a satisfying cooperative or solo puzzle with real tension between time, money, and quality.
What we like
- Strong, well-supported solo mode.
- Unique geometric crew-arrangement puzzle tied directly to theme.
- Thematic film-premiere payoff at the end of every game.
- Variable player powers via distinct department heads.
Keep in mind
- Rules overhead is significant for a cooperative game of this length.
- Group discussion during co-op play can slow the pace.
- Dice-based worker placement introduces some swinginess.
Who it's for
Cooperative and solo gamers who enjoy puzzly worker placement with a strong theme; ages 14+, works well solo up to a full table of six.
