About the game
Honey Buzz is a worker-placement game about building and expanding a personal beehive, where players draft honeycomb tiles that trigger chains of actions when placed in the right pattern. Bees forage for nectar and pollen, produce honey, sell it at the bear market, and attend to the queen's court, all while trying to deduce where scarce nectar deposits are hiding based on rivals' movements. A single well-placed tile can trigger a ring of bonus actions multiple times over the course of the game. It's an efficiency-focused engine builder wrapped in a charming, whimsical bee theme.
Hobbli's Notes
Honey Buzz's tile-triggering system rewards players who can plan out a hive layout several turns ahead, and the charming beeple theme keeps things light even as the engine-building gets clever. A solid pick for groups who enjoy Wingspan-adjacent theming with a bit more strategic bite.
What we like
- Satisfying tile-laying hive-building puzzle with chained actions.
- Charming, distinctive bee theme with 'beeple' worker pieces.
- Solid solo mode for playing the hive alone.
- Tile-triggered action rings add real strategic depth.
Keep in mind
- Memory-based nectar hunting can feel fiddly for some players.
- Market economy can feel somewhat disconnected from the hive-building core.
- Moderate complexity may deter more casual players.
Who it's for
Good for ages 10+ engine-building fans who enjoy tile placement and light deduction, solo or in groups up to 4.
