About the game

My Little Scythe reimagines the acclaimed strategy game Scythe as a family-friendly adventure in the whimsical Kingdom of Pomme. Each player controls two animal characters who move, seek resources, and craft items in pursuit of one of eight possible trophies, with the first to collect four trophies winning. Along the way you can learn magic spells, deliver gems and apples to Castle Everfree, and engage in good-natured pie fights instead of combat. It began life as a beloved fan-made print-and-play before catching Stonemaier Games' attention.

Hobbli's Notes

My Little Scythe does a great job translating the strategic bones of Scythe into something genuinely approachable for younger players, with charming art and a much gentler conflict system. It's a lovely way to introduce kids to area control and engine-building concepts.

What we like

  • Brings Scythe-style area control and engine-building to a family-friendly audience.
  • Charming, colorful art and whimsical pie-fight combat.
  • Scales widely from 1 to 6 players.
  • Multiple trophy categories offer varied paths to victory.

Keep in mind

  • Rules complexity can be a bit much for very young children.
  • Take-that elements can upset younger players when targeted.
  • Playtime can run long for what's marketed as a kids' game.

Who it's for

Great for families with kids ages 6 to 8 and up who enjoy Scythe-style mechanics in a lighter package; scales from 1 to 6 players.
