About the game

The 7th Continent sends 1 to 4 explorers back to a mysterious, curse-ridden land in a bid to break the affliction that has haunted them since a previous expedition. Playing solo or cooperatively, you explore modular terrain cards, craft tools and shelter, and make choose-your-own-adventure decisions inspired by classic Fighting Fantasy gamebooks. The Classic Edition includes three full curses to overcome, each a distinct adventure spanning dozens of hours of exploration. A built-in save system lets you pause your expedition at any point and resume later, much like a video game. With an expected playtime around 1000 minutes total, it's a massive, atmospheric survival-adventure experience.

Hobbli's Notes

Few games deliver the sheer sense of open-ended exploration that The 7th Continent does, with its huge deck of terrain and event cards creating a genuinely unpredictable wilderness. We especially appreciate the save system, since a game this long would be unplayable without an easy way to stop and pick back up later. It rewards patient, curious players who enjoy piecing together survival strategies over many sessions. This is a serious time investment, but one that rewards players who love long-form cooperative adventure.

What we like

  • Built-in save system lets you pause and resume your expedition across sessions.
  • Strong, well-supported solo play experience.

Keep in mind

  • An extremely long total playtime spanning many separate sessions.
