About the game
Unmatched pits unique heroes against each other in tactical, no-luck combat using individually designed decks. This set features Robin Hood, master of ranged attacks and thievery, against Bigfoot and his companion the Jackalope, who strike quickly before vanishing into the forest. A double-sided board offers two distinct battlefields for miniature-scale skirmishes. Simple movement and card-based combat combine for surprisingly deep tactical decisions.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's editors consistently rank Unmatched among the best gateway tactical combat games because of how asymmetric and characterful each hero feels. Robin Hood vs. Bigfoot is a great entry point since it plays two players out of the box, and the miniatures add real table presence.
What we like
- Highly asymmetric heroes with distinct playstyles.
- Quick, no-luck combat resolution.
- Combines easily with other Unmatched sets.
- Attractive miniatures and dual-sided board.
Keep in mind
- Only two players out of the box unless combined with other sets.
- Some match-ups can feel unbalanced.
- Limited long-term depth without additional sets.
Who it's for
Great for two players (or four when combined with other sets) aged 9+ who enjoy tactical skirmish games, legendary hero mashups, and quick combat sessions.
