About the game
Northgard: Uncharted Lands adapts the popular video game into a tabletop game of viking conquest and exploration. Each player leads a clan racing to earn glory through exploration, combat, and territorial control across a modular, ever-expanding map. Actions are driven by a card-based system, with players building a personal deck of tactics and technologies as their clan develops. Resource management becomes especially tense during the winter phase, forcing players to keep their warriors fed and content. The game runs a fixed seven turns, though it can end early if a clan secures enough closed, developed territories.
Hobbli's Notes
Hobbli's team appreciates how Northgard captures the video game's expansion-and-survival tension in a streamlined tabletop format. The winter mechanic adds a satisfying layer of resource pressure that keeps players from expanding recklessly. Its modular board and card-driven actions provide solid replayability across different clans and strategies. It strikes a nice middle ground of depth and accessibility for area-control fans.
